<a href="http://www.anrdoezrs.net/click-3221321-10713043?sid=castingcallsite_page"target="_self"title="" >Casting is a test for the persons who aspire for roles in films or in televisions for different characters. The casting test is always done by the director or by his assistants. There are two types of casting; the open casting where everyone is eligible to participate and the other is specific to the requirement of the director or the producer. The open casting system is picking people from the public environment.

The dilemma lies with casting is since a huge number of people who are available for the production and are reputed open casting are done on projects with specific need when they do not find a match for their role in the industry. As we all know Harry Porter is a bright example of open casting. An untrained actor when found suitable for a particular role he may be very effective because of his raw attitude to the role which may found to be refined with seasoned actors.

The open search for actors is normally done when the requirement comes for a projected role of a teenager or a child actor. The selection is usually made on the basis of his experience which the film or serial may be wanting. Thus, the selected character can perform well than the professional characters that have not seen or gone through that experience.

The major drawback which is mainly discussed in the acting circle is the decision of the casting director who interviews hundreds of persons for one role. The basic idea of any producer appointing casting directors to choose persons for the role is to make the film a box office hit and thus make some money out of his investment. The involvement of money in this industry is to see that the money is returned to its producer by making the film or serial an acceptable thing.

The other aspect of casting if we see it is naturally unfair because the director may not give prominence to the character chosen for a particular role. The second option for casting is through webcasting. The webcasting is growing very fast as it does not limit itself to a particular project. Now private, government and other business organizations are going for various advertisements to promote their product. They need models for their product. By the end of 2005 United States alone had earned revenue of $3.1 billion and is growing rapidly.

The broadcast done in the web or in a TV serial with free telecast need specific group of people for specific roles and jobs. But once they have access to the public then the producers mint money even with an unknown cast. The cast recruited then becomes famous and is hunted by other producers with big offers.

Casting a character is rather a grueling effort as the crowds who attend for casting are huge in numbers. The advice always goes to the new entrants to be polite to the recruiters and professionals who interview you and do not be disheartened if you are not selected. This is a process of acceptance from the producer and directors point of view and you do not have any choice of your own as long as you have not established yourself.

Having an acting reel is a really important part of marketing yourself as an actor, but it can be expensive. If you are familiar with software like iMovie or Movie Maker, you can try to create your acting reel yourself, especially if you only have a few scenes to work with. Below are seven editing tips that will help your homemade acting reel look more professional.

Acting Reel Tip #1 – Avoid DVDs

It’s great to have DVD copies of films you acted in, but it makes editing your reel very difficult, because the video on DVDs needs to be reformatted before it can be edited. If you can, try to get copies of your film acting footage as video files you can easily work with. If you have a Mac computer, ask for Quicktime files. If you have a PC, ask for AVI files. The best way to get the files you need is to contact the editor of the movie you were in. If they are not on set when you shoot, get their name and number from the director or producer. Most of the time, they’ll be able to burn CDs with the scenes you want in the format you ask for. If not, ask if you can get a copy of your scenes on a miniDV tape. If you have a consumer miniDV camera (or can borrow one), all you have to do is plug it into your computer and capture the footage you need.

Acting Reel Tip #2 – A little extra time now will save you a lot of time later

Beyond cost, one of the advantages of making your own acting reel is that you can edit it as often as you like. In order to make this process easy, stay organized when you first create your acting reel. Name all your original scenes carefully and keep a copy of the project you created your reel in, whether it’s in iMovie, Movie Maker or another editing software. If you stay organized, you can update your reel in minutes. This way, when you see a role you want to audition for, you can include the perfect scene for it on your reel before sending it to the <a href="http://www.anrdoezrs.net/click-3221321-10713043?sid=castingcallsite_page"target="_self"title="" >casting director.

Acting Reel Tip #3 – Keep it simple

Your acting reel doesn’t need flashy titles and transitions. A simple fade in and fade out with your name and contact information on a black background works great. You can create that in minutes on iMovie by using the “centered title” template. Stating your name and contact information simply will keep the agent and casting director focused on what matters – watching your acting and writing down your contact information. The important thing is to make sure your slate stays on screen long enough for people to write it down (4-5 seconds if it only includes your name and number, longer if you have more information, like your acting agency’s name or your webpage’s address). And also make sure you put in the same information at the end of your acting reel. That’s the time people are going to write it down… after seeing your best onscreen acting! Which leads me to the next point…

Acting Reel Tip #4 – Keep the best for last

If you’re wandering in what order to include your film scenes on your reel, here’s my advice… Choose a really good scene to start off your demo reel (so busy casting directors keep watching) and pick your best scene to end the reel (so that casting directors pick up the phone to call you). Once you have your first and last scenes, filling the middle of your reel is easy. Line up your middle scenes with one goal in mind – for the viewer to keep watching. This means cutting out anything that feels too long or redundant. If you can, keep surprising the casting director by switching genres or character types.

Acting Reel Tip #5 – Make a short intro

Do you have good moments from the films you’ve been in that just aren’t long enough to include in your acting reel? If you have good on screen moments you don’t know what to do with (for example, a good close-up reaction shot or a silent bit in an action scene), you can edit them all together in a quick montage set to music right after you slate your name at the beginning of your reel. A quick montage (30 seconds max) can really set the tone for your reel. Setting it to music is easy with software like iMovie (the iLife sound effect library comes with “Jingles”, short instrumental pieces perfect for an intro montage).

Acting Reel Tip #6 – Use your editing scissors

A typical acting demo reel is 3-5 minutes long, but having a great 2-minute reel is a much better idea than having a 5 minute average one. Don’t feel like you have to include all the film acting you ever did on your reel. Only pick your best acting moments (and make sure you include close-ups so the viewer knows which actor he’s looking at). Your acting reel is all about you. Ideally, it shouldn’t feature a close-up of any other actor for more than a few seconds). If you have two good acting moments in a scene separated by lengthy dialogue by other characters, cut out the middle dialogue and drop a quick fade in/fade out between your two acting moments (you can do that in seconds on iMovie by using the “fade through black” transition). Remember… The acting agent or casting director watching your reel doesn’t care about understanding the scene you’re in, they just want to see you act.

Acting Reel Tip #7 – Make the most of your scenes

If you’re starting your film acting career, the problem may not be cutting from your reel but adding to it. If you have very few film scenes to include on your reel, get creative! Consider adding footage from a student film or a commercial. If you had a very small role in a film with a recognizable actor or director, you can use a “lower third” title under the footage to mention the name of the actor or director. If you have no footage at all and really feel that you need a film reel, you may want to hire a young director to shoot a few scenes starring you. Film students will probably be willing to do it for free if you pay for the camera and sound package.

How can you help your child’s acting career? Here are five tips you can use to help them succeed while they pursue their dream of acting.

Sign them up for a good kids acting class
If your child is six or older, this is the first step to take before even thinking of an agent or headshots. Children actors don’t need that much training and “acting technique”. What they need is to build the confidence to be themselves when they act. Being around other kid actors and knowing what to expect when they go to children acting auditions will help them book their first acting job. A good child acting class teaches kids to stay natural by using their innate ability to make believe. It uses methods like theater games and improvisation that make learning acting fun and exciting for the child. Kids can quickly pick up bad habits as actors, so take your time when looking for a good class. Talk to other parents and look for a teacher that will give your child a strong foundation, rather then teach them “tricks” to be cute that will quickly wear off as they get older.

Get them a good kid headshot
Headshots are very important for any actors, because a headshot is the first thing <a href="http://www.anrdoezrs.net/click-3221321-10713043?sid=castingcallsite_page"target="_self"title="" >casting directors see when they look through actor submissions. A kid headshot is even more important because children often don’t have much experience on their resume yet, so a lot of the time, all a casting director has to go by is their picture. What makes a good kid headshot? One that is natural, looks exactly like your child and shows their personality. You don’t even have to spend the money on a headshot photographer if your kid is just starting a child acting career. A good snapshot taken by you should suffice to start with. Just make sure you take it outside using natural light and that it is a smiling shot of your kid that shows face, hair and shoulders. Avoid make-up and fancy hairdos at all costs! A kid’s headshot should look like a kid. That’s what casting directors are looking for. Children who can have fun and be themselves in front of the camera. Once you have a good shot, make 8 x 10 prints for auditions.

Try not to coach them
It’s natural for parents to want to help our children, but coaching them can really hold back their child acting career. That’s because we don’t see the world like they do. If we tell them how to say a particular line for an audition, we’re giving them an adult’s point of view on how we think the line should be said. Not only will their rendition sound awkward and forced, but we will have taken away a chance for their uniqueness and personality to shine through. What casting directors are looking for at auditions is a child’s unique take on a role, not an imitation of how a parent think the role should be played. No matter how smart a parent’s interpretation is, it can’t rival the spontaneous take a child will have on things. Another reason not to coach your kid is that if you want them to have a long child acting career, they have to learn how to work on it themselves without any help. Even if mimicking works at the beginning, it will only take them so far.

Audition Locally
If your child is just starting to attend kids <a href="http://www.anrdoezrs.net/click-3221321-10713043?sid=castingcallsite_page"target="_self"title="" >casting calls, don’t travel miles to go to auditions in major cities far from your home. Not only will your child have to deal with longer lines and fiercer competition, but oftentimes kids’ auditions in big cities are not that kid friendly. Although auditions may be few and far between at first, it will be better for your child’s self-confidence if they start off in a smaller town where the casting director can take the time to talk to them and make them feel comfortable.

Keep it fun
Acting should always be fun for children. It’s the children who are passionate about acting that are successful because it’s like a game for them. How can you help keep it fun? Make sure no one – no teacher, agent or family member – is putting pressure on them to succeed. Also make sure they keep up with school work and have other hobbies and interests than acting. This will help create a balance in their lives so they don’t have their self-worth tied in with whether they get the next acting job or not. Having other hobbies can in turn be helpful in their child acting career, so be sure to mention on their kid acting resume if they have special skills like ice skating, skateboarding, etc.

Kids who love acting have fun when they audition. They don’t try to guess what casting directors want. They are able to be themselves and remain kids. And that’s what producers are looking for when hiring young talent! To find out more, read these kids acting tips and this step by step information on how to start a child acting career.

<a href="http://www.anrdoezrs.net/click-3221321-10713043?sid=castingcallsite_page"target="_self"title="" >Casting for All Types of Media

Whether it is a movie or television show, the people who play the roles of each character are truly what shape its success, and how fans will like the program. The same concept applies to animated films and television shows.

The Casting Agent’s Role in the Process

When choosing good voice talent, a casting agent plays an essential role in helping to find the best possible voices for each character. There are different ways the agent can participate in helping to choose the final person for each character.

On Location Auditions

Auditions can be held, and the casting agent can assist the casting director in making cuts and deciding who will return for another round of auditions. The casting agent’s job is to assist with advertising the date, location, and time of the audition and with call-backs.

Voice Over Auditions

When it comes to voice over auditions, the process is much like live action auditions in the sense that the person auditioning still must have an understanding of the character they are attempting to play, and should be able to exhibit that through their voice.

Reading The Script

Another way casting agents can find talent is to call certain actors or actresses the director might be interested in, and have them do a reading. This process makes it easier, since the casting agent and director are pre-choosing who they’d like for the role. As an agent, professionalism is needed at all times.

Audition Etiquette

Communicating with people who are auditioning in a professional manner is very important. Organization is also essential, since the casting agent needs to be able to maintain a database of names, contact numbers, and a way to monitor which potential voice talent is still in the running, and which are not.

Where to Find <a href="http://www.anrdoezrs.net/click-3221321-10713043?sid=castingcallsite_page"target="_self"title="" >Casting Calls

The casting agent should be able to put advertisements in local magazines and newspapers, as well as online clearly showing what the audition is for. This advertisement does not have to reach just local potential actors; it can also be on a national scale, so that people looking for voice over employment all over the country can participate. The advertisement should list any requirements in terms of prior experience required, and let the people know the correct date and times to show up for the reading or audition.

Arriving At The Audition

A sign-in sheet and calendar is necessary to keep track of all of the names that will come through during the audition. Providing water for people auditioning, as well as ensuring that everyone is comfortable is important, and it’s up to the casting agent to help keep this area calm, organized, clean, and as comfortable as possible.

The Final Decision

While the casting agent will not make the final decision, it is up to them to help the director to determine which candidates were potential call-backs and which were not. The agent can also advise the director and give their opinion, as long as the director respects their input.

Getting The Callback

At the end of the decision making, the casting agent will call back people who need to return for another reading, or make the call to the actors they have chosen to play the role. This type of position requires patience, professionalism, organization, and the ability to recognize good talent.

If you have ever looked in the mirror and said to yourself “I need to be a supermodel” or have received questions every day from perfect strangers asking you if you are a model, I have three tips below on how to become a supermodel.

1. Confidence

It goes without saying that to succeed at anything, you have to be confident in yourself and what you have to offer. This is the difference between making it and falling by the way side in this cut throat industry. Confidence will ultimately determine your ability to book jobs as well as your longevity in the industry. Be confident NOW in what you have to offer. Being confident and believing in yourself will help you bounce back quickly from the rejections that you receive which is a part of the industry.

2. Look

Currently modeling is not just about being the most beautiful girl in the world. Currently, if you have a quirkiness such as Agyness Deyn, you have a better chance of success. You also have to set yourself apart from other models and my go to area is usually cutting your hair or trying a very different hair color.

3. Diet Whatever model you would like to be including plus size, working to be at your correct body weight is important in order to become a successful supermodel. Watching your diet does not mean engaging in unhealthy habits either. Get your metabolism going early in the day by always eating a healthy breakfast. Never skip breakfast.

Due to the constraints on this article, I can only discuss these 3 tips on how to become a supermodel. Visit my webpage at http://www.squidoo.com/fashiongal where I discuss these tips in greater detail and also offer other tips on getting an agency and <a href="http://www.anrdoezrs.net/click-3221321-10713043?sid=castingcallsite_page"target="_self"title="" >casting calls. by Jenny Mays

You might be an established star, or you might be someone who is just starting out in the entertainment business. The job of the casting agents would be to assist you in showcasing your talent before directors and production houses, network on your behalf, and find roles which might make you famous over night.
Casting agents are located in different parts of the world. There are casting agents in London, the USA, Canada, or anyplace else. To find the best casting agents in a particular area, you would need to conduct an online search. You could also read reviews for a variety of casting agents and work with the best in the business. When you are working with casting agents of repute, half your work is already done. These professionals having inside knowledge of the industry would help you find roles suitable to your personality and temperament and assist you in creating a successful carrier in the entertainment business.

In this day and age of the Internet, finding casting agents is not that difficult a proposition as it was even a couple of years ago. Some reputed sites have come up in recent times, and these are acting as platforms for entertainment companies in search of talent, and talented individuals in search of their dream roles. Individuals in search of work can post their profiles in these sites and hope to hear from the best casting agents in the business. Many reputed casting agents and directors are known to search these sites for new talent and aspiring actors cannot afford to miss out on this chance to get noticed.

There is another facet to these sites; individuals can also apply directly to the <a href="http://www.anrdoezrs.net/click-3221321-10713043?sid=castingcallsite_page"target="_self"title="" >casting calls and acting auditions which are featured there and hope to get work as actors, TV hosts, musicians, or any other related capacity.

The fact of the matter is that one needs to possess excellent networking skills to get noticed in the entertainment business and what better way to do so than using the almost magical capabilities of the Internet? Many insiders and professionals in the entertainment industry have realised this fact and have started harnessing the power of the Internet to assist aspiring actors, models, and artists with a dream of making it big. These people are the brains behind the web sites which have come up where casting agents can place their advertisements and contact individuals directly.

Today every individual who possesses some or the other talent is in search for an appropriate platform where he/she can display his/her talent to the fullest. The casting agencies have come up as a source of hope for such individuals with great amounts of talent. The Casting agencies are actually the agencies that are on a constant hunt for the talented people who excel in different fields like singing, acting, modeling, dancing etc. Casting call notices are the important aspects related to the acting agencies.

These agencies collaborate with scouts and try finding prospective persons that could participate in different kinds of projects like TV, photo, video, advertisement casting and others. It is a well-known saying that “If you have the will, you can find the way”. This is an absolutely true saying. If you possess the talent and wish to display it in front of the entire world, you can actually take the help of these casting agencies that can guide you in the direction that can take you towards extreme progress. Internet acts as a brilliant source of finding such agencies that can help you take a route that can guide you towards achieving immense success with the display of your talents. The acting agencies are capable of creating their own projects and intermediating between private persons and agencies that are looking for them. These casting call agencies also help the people in utilizing their in-built talent to prepare a career for themselves.

The casting notices are actually the messages that are sent by the casting agents who are in need for the fresh talents. They advertise about their agency in the most impressive manner so as to attract more and more people with different in-built talents. These casting notices can help the talented people to choose between various agencies that cast the talents into professions.

Today more and more companies are coming up with different strategies of providing the notices for conducting their casting procedures. One of the latest one is the method in which the people with talents are allowed to submit electronically to the projects created by casting on the various websites. Such websites are also part of the Professional, Marketer and the Works packages. There is an existence of a large number of websites that provide the talented with free Casting notices so that they don’t have to spend on acquiring knowledge about the different events where they can showcase their talent in the most unique and appreciable manner. Although these websites have turned out to be extremely useful, but still it is highly recommended that you should check out the authenticity of the company to your complete satisfaction so as to avoid any kind of scam at a later stage. The casting agencies have come up a ray of hope for those persons who possess great talents but are unable to achieve a platform to showcase the same. So, if you love singing, dancing, acting and wish to possess it as a career, then the acting agencies are the perfect tools to start with.
